Well, he had another game this weekend, so here's how it went:
The smaller ship needed refueling, losing the last of its power on the trip to the dark world. Deciding the colony also needed more supplies and control in general, Quigley Isstvan convinced the AI to call the nearby Dragon outpost to try and convince them to take over the colony. However, the negotiations went very poorly, and Taye was only just able to jump in and end the discussion. Isstvan was thrown in the brig by the AI since he had insulted her and been generally unpleasant, and he didn't get out until he was called to arms when the smaller ship was attacked by the Bush People (quick memo: The Plants are good, the Bushes are bad, the Trees are neutral, all of these being the different peoples of the world). They captured one of them who was wounded by the explosion but weren't able to fulfill negotiations, as he only screamed about killing everyone.
Next, there was the arrival of Sir Laurence Thornside and Thomas Millford, being delegates from the remnants of Isstvan's old world (The Skarilian Knights); Sir Thornside was particularly unpleasant, not liking Isstvan, but Millford was reasonable and conveyed that the Skarilian Knights planned to utilize this colony.

At this point, Robert (Quigley Isstvan) left, and I went on with Taye.

Taye had the droids build a couple of houses out of wood at the suggestion of Millford, and had to hold off an attack from the Bush People. There were some hostages taken, but that night loud noises and a dangerous proximity alert made Taye release them all into the forest; it turned out, however, that it was actually a pair of giant dinosaurs fighting off in the distance. The next day, Bunyip (the male Plant Person who lives at the colony, his wif being Krossa and his son being Lone) went out to gather meat from the dead dinosaur and a large amount of food was stored.
Millford also suggested bringing in some colonists, specifically twelve Losians that needed relocation. Losian look like long, thin creatures that I like to describe as an almost possum-like creature. There were two families--one of four and one of eight--and they took quickly to helping build homes and do any work necessary. Taye declared one to be leader of the Losians as well, and they settled down rather well.
Taye then received a letter saying to go to O7 Station using the Teleportation Nexus in the ship (they had mostly forgotten about it, really). Upon arriving, he found a slave port filled with Losians. He also learned from some weirdo standing nearby that they were bred to be servile and to reproduce quickly. Taye also met another of his kind and transferred memories with him, learning that he freed slaves. The other droid told him that he was likely meant to see the Losians slaves to get understanding of the Losian colonists in some way. That very night, the other droid also released many slaves, and Taye found one in his room the next morning. He took the elf (it was an elf, by the way) back with him to the colony, and the guy seemed to prefer the company of Sir Thornside.
Thornside also continuously said that he now controlled the military of the colony, and specified that this meant he'd control the militia and such and was basically the general. There was a lot of arguing on this point.
Taye tried to negotiate with the Bush People, but it went poorly and three droids died when they found a camp with five of them. They also responded to a distress call from a ship that crashed to the north; upon entering the behemoth of a wreckage they found more of the insectoid warriors (called Irkkkndids[pronounced ee-rik-ki-ki-nids]) from previously stalking around; they fought them off, then got to the blackroom where the survivors (a species called the Skrssk[pronounced skrissk], which are like big ants with more rounded and bodies) were. They were able to blow up a wall in the ship to escape the army of Irkkkndids within, but by doing so also released the bugs into the world.
Taye and party got back to the ship, and the Skrssk gave them some supplies as a thank you before using the Nexus to leave the planet.
